2021: Your Greatest Year Yet

It’s a New You and a New Year. And I’m Your Biggest Fan

e’ve all had unique experiences in 2020. Whether we had to introduce new habits or we experienced a loss, it’s a year that has changed our future.

Many took advantage of 2020 and grew their skills or started businesses. Others had a hard time getting by. Either way, we’ve all gone through this together and now we enter a new chapter.

One good thing about 2020 is that we started it as a year of vision, reminding us of 20/20 eyesight. And it was. Only a different kind of vision. It reminded us of what mattered.

Now we can use our perspective to create a powerful 2021. A year built on newfound growth and resilience.

Go For It

We all have dreams. And we often set them aside. Last year, we learned that dreams are the only things worth living for.

Our relationships and the things we build will be the only things that matter to us in the end. This year, we can work hard on making many of our dreams a reality.

Restraints like a current job, busyness, and procrastination aren’t valid excuses anymore. We’ve learned what matters and how to cut what isn’t adding value to our lives.

Last year, we lost loved ones and jobs. It taught us that nothing is guaranteed. If we don’t chase what matters now, then we never will. Write a list of all the things you would want to do one day. Then choose the ones you want to do in 2021.

“I have lots of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly.” -Oprah Winfrey.

Love Again

We’ve all experienced broken relationships; family or friends we don’t talk to or bridges burned.

2021 is the year to change that. Forgiveness and humility are powerful. This is a year of healing. It’s not worth the hate or shame. Unresolved relationships create toxicity in our thought life. It’s not worth it.

This is a year of reconciliation, forgiveness, and restoring broken relationships.

It’s also a year to speak life into others and show them love. We forget to value others every day but it’s the most impactful thing we can do. Wake up each morning and think of who you can encourage.

When we love others, we are loved in return. We feel fulfilled and recharged.

“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Think Plentifully

It’s easy to have a scarcity mindset, especially after last year. “I don’t have enough money,” “I can’t accomplish that goal because it’s too big.” But those thoughts put a restraint on our potential. It limits us.

When we think in abundance, we think big. We have a vision that’s greater than our ability. We attract others to accomplish it alongside us. Limits become superficial and you surprise yourself at how far you can go. Your thoughts will determine your future.

When you think plentifully, you are generous. You help others. And in turn, you begin to see fruitful results in your life.

“The key to abundance is meeting limited circumstances with unlimited thoughts.” -Marianne Williamson

Give, Give, Give

Give everything you can. This doesn’t just include gifts and finances. More importantly, your time, love, and words of encouragement.

By living a generous life, you make the world a better place. You begin to see your year in a positive light. You see the good in people and the opportunities waiting for you.

Give resources to charity. Volunteer your time to a good cause. Mentor someone. Love your partner and family. Encourage your friends and uplift them by praising their potential.

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” — Mother Theresa

Invest Beyond Yourself

Our lives are short. 2021 will be even shorter. Think of the ways you can build your legacy and impact on the world.

Whatever you do this year, see it through the lenses of people-first.

You can get a better job. Build a business. Acquire a new skill. Write a novel. But how will it help you impact others? Take it seriously. Because at the end of our lives, it’ll probably be the only thing that matters.

Your year is going to be fantastic! And I’m your biggest fan.
